Gorham Telephone Company (GTC) was established in 1905.  Dedication and hard work by local businessman and farmers began the makings of GTC.  They did so by stringing simple wire on fence posts.  In 1944, GTC was purchased by a George W. Murphy.  The family updated GTC to offer world class service and infrastructure through quality employees and still does to this day.  GTC provides landline telephone and internet services to the communities of Gorham, Luray, Paradise, and Waldo, Kansas.  GTC also is a reseller of DirecTV.

The employees of GTC live and work in the community and go the extra mile to offer great service to each and everyone.  We pride ourselves by offering Fiber to the Home, give local community support, and offer same or next-day service.

Gorham Telephone Company proudly supports the communities that it serves in a variety of ways. This support ranges from providing jobs with competitive salaries and benefits in rural areas to donating needed goods and services to our local schools and organizations, serving on committees and volunteering at local festivals and events. We support local chapters in the Relay for Life events, little league teams, volunteer fire departments, 4-H clubs, and many others.

Getting an education is one of the most important things you can do in your life, and it is something nobody can take away from you. GTC is able to provide three scholarships which are:

— The Murphys Memorial Scholarship,
— The Foundation for Rural Service Scholarship,
— The Foundation for Rural Service Grant Program.

These scholarships are a way for the Murphy family to give back to the area.
